Watkins is located in both eastern Adams and Arapahoe Counties approximately 24 miles east of Denver. There are some historical and commercial areas in each county. Watkins’ residents enjoy trails for horseback riding, biking, hiking, ATV riding, as well as many open spaces for viewing of various birds, antelope, and deer. We also boast of agricultural fields of wheat, millet, and sunflowers intermixed along our areas of homes. Our Open Space Committee is currently planning a park in downtown Watkins with two historical buildings on one corner for the public’s pleasure. Watkins is committed to planned development with reasonable economic vitality to improve the quality of life for its citizens.
